The technical directions and objectives of CIGRE are presented in Stategic Plans and Action Plans.
A Strategic Plan describes mid to long term ambitions and goals, in line with the mission of CIGRE. It permits the planning of the activities and their coordination over a long period.
The Strategic Plan of the Technical Committee is the Master document: it analyses the Electric Power Industry and the operating environment of CIGRE and selects the priorities in term of activities and mode of operation. The present plan was issued in 1998 and has been updated in 2004.
In coherence with the TC Plan, the SCs reflect their own views and ambitions in their own Strategic Plans (posted on their websites).

The TC Action Plan is the "road map" for the technical activities of CIGRE.
The present TC Action Plan was issued in 2004. It identifies various short term actions along main directions, called Key Actions. It is an internal document.
The SCs take it into account to produce their own Action Plans.

Highlights of the activities over previous 2/3 years and main new actions launched are summarized in the Technical Reports, issued by SCs and published in ELECTRA .They are available from the SC websites and from e-cigre.
