Organisation

The Study Committtees (SCs) are the main players of CIGRE activities: they have an active part in CIGRE events and carry out permanent studies.
Each SC has a domain of activity, defined and updated by the Administrative Council: the present structure was put into force in 2002.

The Chairman and the members of the SC manage the work:

- Advisory Groups assist them for the orientations of the work, the choice of subjects...
- Working Groups and Task Forces perform studies which are clearly specified by Terms of Reference, which result in Reports and Technical Brochures, available in the CIGRE Library.

The Technical Committee (TC) of CIGRE controls the work of the SCs. It coordinates their orientation, validate their programme and monitor their operation. It defines the technical contents of the Sessions and Symposia, and organises the cooperation with other organisations.
