We will fund projects and programs to advance the global future for the energy transition and the emergence of electricity in every facet of society.

Supporting projects, programmes and knowledge that advance the power system for the future

The Funds scope includes research and development, graduate scholarships, educational initiatives, STEM engagement, and humanitarian actions aimed at enabling sustainable electricity for underserved communities.

Diversity of topics and geographic balance will guide funding decisions over time. In line with CIGRE’s values, the Fund will remain technically neutral and apolitical.

Applications for grants

Applications for grants are handled by CIGRE’s global network of National Committees. Grants for 2026 are available now, If you have a worthy proposal please contact your nearest National Committee by the end of June. If your country does not have a National Committee please feel free to contact a country suitable to your needs. All National Committees will consider applications from anywhere.
