CIGRE A3&B3 Joint Colloquium 2027 – Call for papers
THEME: Resilient and Sustainable Substations and T&D Equipment for the Energy Transition
The CIGRE Japan National Committee, in collaboration with Study Committee A3 “Transmission and distribution equipment” and Study Committee B3 “Substations and electrical installations” is organising a joint colloquium 2027 in Tokyo, where tradition meets innovation, to address challenges facing power systems during the energy transition through building “ONE GRID”.
The event will gather international experts and emphasise interactive discussion. To broaden participation, the colloquium will use a presentation-based format without full papers; participants should submit short synopses for review to ensure discussion quality. Young engineers and students are especially encouraged to join.
*This colloquium will be planned and managed by SC A3 & B3, but contributions from any SC that align with the following PSs and the above theme are welcome!
Preferential Subjects
- PS1: Enhancing resilience of substations and T&D equipment under extreme environmental and natural disaster conditions.
- PS2: Practical deployment and operating experiences of sustainable technologies and environmentally compatible solutions for Net Zero.
- PS3: Digital intelligence for asset management and knowledge transfer in substations and equipment.
NOTE: Contribution must be aligned with not only PSs but also the colloquium “THEME”.
Submission of synopsis
Participants wishing to present a presentation should submit their synopses via the website (https://cigre-jc2027.jp), where templates are available. All synopses and presentations must be written in English.
*Poster sessions may be included depending on the number and nature of submissions; the intention is to aim for oral presentation for all accepted contributions where possible.
Important dates
- 10 July 2026: Opening of the call for synopses
- 12 March 2027: Deadline for synopses submission
- 23 April 2027: Notification of acceptance
- 10 July 2027: Deadline for presentation materials submission
- 31 July 2027: Notification of acceptance of presentation materials
