Maintenance of HV cable systems
Tue, Nov 30, 2021 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM CET
The webinar aims to give introduction to the Technical Brochure of Maintenance of HV cable systems.
Maintenance of high voltage (HV) cable systems, and accessories, is an important practice to ensure the availability of a cable system during service. Generally, cable systems have an expected lifetime of several decades depending on various factors such as age, insulation type, voltage, and operating history. To ensure the cable system is utilized in a safe and expected manner, maintenance of the system is required. This can be achieved through inspection, testing, diagnostics and/or monitoring of the cable system.
The TB 825 is an update of the TB 279 which includes more updated technologies and practices for Maintenance.
It covers all kind of cable types, both submarine and land cables.
The following topics are covered:
- Existing Maintenance practices and Strategies
- Monitoring and diagnostics
- Spare part management, emergency preparedness and training
- Cost of Maintenance
- Remaining life
- Future developments / big data
Several case studies are also presented in the TB 825
This webinar will be presented by Bart Mampaey and Ivan Jovanovic. Technical Brochure 825 (available from www.e-cigre.org), is an update of TB 279, and was published in 2021.
